A harmonious meeting of seemingly opposites, a meeting of east and west, ancient and modern, melody and harmony, Taan is an indo-world music group composed by Rushi Vakil, son of Pandit Divyang Vakil.  Each track is different from the rest.  In one, you find Irish fiddling with Goan folk, while another compares jazz with the classical raga of Bhairavi.  There are club beats overlaid with tabla vocals and a Ugandan folk song recreated with Indian improvisation techniques.  Appealing to today’s generation and the connoisseurs of music, Taan has audiences snapping their fingers, dancing to the beat and swaying to its sound.
